V2WORK at Tay Nguyen University – 4th training module “Job preparation training, soft skills, and internships”

V2WORK’s fourth training of trainers module took play at Tay Nguyen University in Buon Ma Thuot, from 14 to 16 January, 2019, with the objective of is to making participants familiar with the purpose and the processes related to soft skills and internships for university students in order to improve their employability. In particular, through a combination of lectures, practical exercises, sharing of good practices, the module intended that the participants

- understand Soft Skills and their importance;

- realize how to develop soft skills at the university;

- define the roles of the university, the company and the students before, during and after the internship;

- define quality criteria of internships and the need to explicitly determine learning outcomes for the internships;

- inform the participants about how to prepare students before the internship, how to coach students during the internship and how to lead students in a reflection on the internship experience after the internship.

In addition, an afternoon session was dedicated to working on the project’s in-depth analysis of the situation of graduate employment and the status of career centres in Vietnamese Universities, by looking at regional data from official government sources, and through a working session on how best to exploit the statistical annex produced from the data collected from students, graduates, employers, university staff over the previous months.

Following this training module, each of our partners will organise short replication seminars to further share the knowledge gained and discuss these issues with colleagues in their own institutions.
